Food Choices for a Cholesterol Diet Plan
Doctors recommend that everyone eat well balanced meals and exercise regularly, this also goes for those with cholesterol concerns. When a Cholesterol Diet Plan is in order, the following are a list of foods that are beneficial and some that should be avoided. Foods high in soluble fiber will assist in lowering cholesterol. Some such foods are: Oats and oatmeal; certain fresh fruits such as, pears and oranges; fresh vegetables like, carrots, brussel sprouts and leafy greens; and dried beans and peas. Foods high in fats (saturated and trans fats) should be limited or avoided. Some foods that are particularly high in these fats are: Organ meats (liver and gizzards); egg yolks (all fat content is found in the yolk); full fat or whole dairy products; fried foods; fast foods, especially fries, are extremely high in fat content; and pastries, donuts and crackers. Simply adjusting ones diet accordingly, can help improve ones cholesterol.
